The Firm

Founded in 2010, Ashcombe Advisers is an independent investment bank that provides transaction and strategic advice to private and public companies in the UK and selected European markets. Our proposition has four central components:-

  • Thorough expertise in the industries we cover – financial services, consumer and B2B technology

  • The provision of sophisticated, thoughtful advice together with high-quality execution services

  • The development of global relationships: we travel with our clients

  • Strong teams and a compensation model that shares rewards broadly

The partners intend to develop and grow the business for the long term, and are therefore seeking to add like-minded, capable individuals who can grow with the business.

Financial Institutions Group

Our financial services team comprises 6 people – three partners, an associate director, one associate and one analyst – who cover a wide remit:-

  • 4 Verticals: we focus on banking & credit, alternative asset management, wealth & advice, and insurance

  • M&A Advice: We work on acquisitions & disposals, restructurings, and asset sales for private and public companies

  • Capital Markets Advice: We raise (growth) equity, regulatory capital, senior / mezzanine / unitranche and other structured funding facilities for banks, credit providers, FinTechs, GPs and other special situations

  • Strategic Advice: We work with clients on strategic reviews covering all aspects of their business

  • Size: We have a wide range of deal sizes (£5m to £1bn) but EVs of £30-250m are most common

The Role & Requirements

We are looking to hire someone with 3-5 years’ corporate finance experience to join the FIG team to support day-to-day transaction execution and preparation. Ideally we can identify a future partner of the firm. Candidate requirements include:-

  • Experience: Able to support numerical work (financial analysis, modelling, valuation, waterfalls); presentation and written work (information memoranda, pitches, etc.) and project management

  • Attitude: Proactive, keen to learn, keen to help, thinks flexibly & independently

  • Ethos: Able to enjoy the more entrepreneurial experience of working in a small team that builds deep relationships with impressive businesses

  • Representation: Will represent the firm well both internally and externally

We offer competitive compensation, 25 days holiday per year and the opportunity to learn and thrive. The role will be office-based, but the start date is flexible.
